Streetly M4000 Mellotron

The M4000 is the modern day Mellotron, created by Streetly Electronics, the company that developed the Mellotron. Unlike the famous frame-based M400 with which most people are familiar, the M4000 is not limited to 3 sounds. The M4000 is a cycling Mellotron like the old MkI/MkII/M300 machines and has 8 stations with either 3 or 6 sounds in each, for a total of 24 or 48 sounds. It's very reliable and plays like a dream.

Mellotron Samples

These WAV samples were taken from 2 different Mellotrons...an M400S and an M4000. The tapes were in mint condition when sampled. The samples were recorded with the tone control fully clockwise. Each ZIP file contains one set of samples of about 20 megabytes. Each sample is approximately 7 to 8 seconds in length.

These are ZIP files of approximately 20 mb each.
